Perfecting the Performance-Rewards link

June 23rd, 2009 in category: Industry news

Arlene Wherrett in her article Perfecting the Performance-Rewards link provides us with some interesting information:

A recent survey conducted by Mercer Human Resource  Consulting revealted that for 42% of organisations,”improving the linkage between performance and rewards” is among their top two rewards priorities for the coming year.

Arlene also notes that:

The amount of money invested in employees generally makes up 36% (in some organisations this is as high as 60 or 70%) of operating expenditure in most Australian companies, yet in comparison to other areas of expenditure, little analysis has been done in measuring the return on investment in employees.

By creating an effective performance-reward link, this investment can be quantified and measures introduced to improve it.
